1972 Old Way Mai Tai
Trader Vic's style mai tai

| 1 oz White Rum | [ Add ] |
| 1 oz Dark Rum | [ Add ] |
| 1⁄2 oz Orange Curaçao | [ Add ] |
| 3⁄4 oz Lime Juice | [ Add ] |
| 1⁄4 oz Orgeat Syrup | [ Add ] |
| 1⁄4 oz Simple Syrup | [ Add ] |
Glass: Old-Fashioned
Recipe:
- 1 oz Dark Rum (Gosslings)
- 1 oz Light Rum (I use 50/50 Light rum and spiced rum)
- 1/2 oz DeKyupper Orange Curacao
- 1/4 oz Orgeat Syrup
- 1/4 oz Simple Syrup
- Juice of one lime (About 2/3 an oz)
- Add to glass with a handfull of crushed ice and swizzle until the glass frosts.
- Top with 7-up for fizz
- Garnish with a cherry

My take on the classic 1972 "Old Way" Trader Vik's Mai Tai.
Love the addition of spiced rum - really adds a kick of flavor.

... and cut the simple syrup. Make it with just 1/2 oz of orgeat - makes more sense, and I don't think the flavour will become too nutty.

Really awesome. One or two dashes of Peychaud's bitters can play very well here.
