Deep Red

Summer cocktail with a nice kick and refreshin taste.

2 23 oz Noilly Prat Rouge[ Ajouter ]
2 23 oz Jus de canneberge[ Ajouter ]
1 c. à café Jus de lime[ Ajouter ]
1 c. à café Miel[ Ajouter ]
1 13 oz Goral Vodka Master[ Ajouter ]
Méthode: Préparer dans le verre
Verre: Highball
Recette:
  1. Prerequisities: Get a cooler glass at least 350ml large. You will need fresh juice from a quarter to half limet and a teaspoon of forest honey (dark & fluid). Ice, a lot of it ;)
  2. Making: Start with 4cl vodka (I use Goral Masters) and a teaspoon of honey. Stir till the honey melts off the spoon. Now add 8cl red vermouth (Noilly Prat or Dolin are recomended), a teaspoon of fresh lime juice, stir gently and fill the glass with ice cubes to the top. Now add 8cl cranberry juice slowly through the ice and gently fill with soda.
  3. Serving & drinking: First add two transparent cocktail tubes. The cockail is best to be served as is, raw, without stiring so just put the tubes straight to the glass floor. The honey does a nice texture in the deep red bottom of the glass just bellow the ice cubes and slowly changes through bright red in the middle to a pastel red color on the top. Once served, you may stir the drink and enjoy the flavors as they go from strong to moderate while drinking slowly.
  4. Caution: It's strong!

July 2011 in Malacky, Slovakia... Insanely hot weather, lots of sun and only vodka and red vermouth left in the refrigerator. So guess what came to my mind :D
Started as an experiment for something bitter and strong, slowly added the honey for more sweetness and some eye candy. Tested with all kinds of ice, cubes worked best for the cranberry add (slower mixing). Lime juice added after altering the overall volume for a 350-380ml glass. Named it deep red for the soft honey texture in the deep red vermouth/vodka bottom.
